Local Principal In the Running For H-E-B Award

Principal Jay Barrett was announced as a finalist for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Award.
Barrett is one of five secondary education principals who are finalist for the award in the state of Texas.
On Wednesday representatives from H-E-B came to the Amarillo Area Center for Advanced Learning School and presented Barrett with $1,000 and $2,500 for the school.
If Barrett wins he would receive $10,000 and $25,000 would go to the school.
