Less Fire Calls This 4th Of July Holiday

Potter County Fire officials say they saw fewer fire calls over the Fourth of July weekend than they did in 2020..

In 2020, Potter County received more than 20 calls in a period of five hours, and this year they had 26 calls for the entire weekend.

While it is legal to set off fireworks in Potter and Randall counties, it’s illegal to set them off in the city limits.

Fire officials also say they received fewer calls this year in reference to firework related injuries. like burns to the hands and

eyes, but did see an uptick in calls of people getting injured from outdoor activities like go-carting or riding bicycles
