Thirty-six new teachers from the Panhandle have been added to the Leaders Readers Network program.

That’s the most in the program’s history.

The Literacy Fellowship provides books all through the school year to help teachers from Title One schools, to raise students’ literacy level scores.

Under the program, the teachers get help educating in the classroom with a diverse selection of books and the books the teachers get are all new and are supplied through grants. Teachers will be able to hand out the books to students to take home.

The program aims to help teachers as much as they help the students.
