(New York, NY) — President-elect Trump will not be sentenced in his New York hush money case next week. Judge Juan Merchan granted a stay on sentencing, pending motions to dismiss the case by Trump’s lawyers. The Manhattan district attorney’s office has said it would agree for sentencing to be delayed until after Trump is out of office, but opposes the case being tossed. Trump’s attorney have argued his conviction in the hush money case should be tossed out after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled a president has immunity for official acts during their time in office.
