Indictment Handed Down In Death Of Baby

A Potter County grand jury has indicted a man in the death of a child.
Logan Gene Hayes was indicted on a charge of capital murder of a person younger than 10 years old in the death of 8 ½-month-old Damian Scott Hayes.
Amarillo Police found the child at a home on South West 4th Avenue Saturday, November 7th of 2015.
The indictment states that the elder Hayes is accused of applying pressure with his hands to the throat or neck of the child, leading to his death.
The death of the baby was the City of Amarillo’s only unsolved homicide of 2015.
