I-40 High Speed Chase
A multi-agency chase on Friday in Donley County involved Texas DPS officers.
It all started when the Donley County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a truck tractor semi-trailer on Friday for a traffic violation on State Highway 70, at 3:00 p.m.
The driver did not stop, attempted to evade police and the chase was on.
DPS Seargent Cindy Barkley says DPS troopers, Donley County deputies, Gray County deputies and a Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden joined in to assist in getting the driver to stop.
The driver kept on going and got onto I-40, Officials say DPS troopers successfully spiked the semi and it came to a stop on eastbound I-40 east of Highway 70.
Sheriff’s officials says there was an officer shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.
I-40 eastbound at the I-40 and US 287 split was initially closed around 6:00 p.m. Friday.
