I-27 Project Near Finish

The first phase of the I-27 project is pretty close to being finished, but that does not mean a third lane will be open to traffic anytime soon.

A stretch of portable concrete traffic barriers on the northbound side of the road are being replaced with traffic cones.

The I-27 restructuring project started last September, and new lights were put on top of the new wall.

TxDOT expects the project to be finished in early October. Phase Two of the project will have traffic barriers moved to the outside lanes for restructuring of the ramps.
