Hit and Run Victim Identified

The victim in a Hit and Run crash has been identified as 48-year-old Griselda Lopez-Garcia.
On Monday, the Amarillo Police Department was called out to I-40 near Whitaker Road for a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle.
The accident occurred sometime during the night or early morning and the woman’s body was found by an highway construction worker when he came in to work this morning.
The interstate was shut down to one lane eastbound for several hours while the Amarillo Police Traffic Investigation unit worked the scene.
