Hit And Run Kills Man And Dog

Amarillo Police were called the 1000 block of NE 15th at 11:35 Sunday night after a vehicle hit a man walking his dog
Police say the driver hit and killed a 61-year-old male and his dog in the roadway.
During the investigation, officers discovered that the victim had been struck by at least two vehicles and both fled the scene before officers arrived.
The man was not in a crosswalk when the collision occurred.
Justice of the Peace Robert Taylor has ordered an autopsy.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
