Higthland Park Honored

The Highland Park Schools Board of Trustees has been named the 2022 Outstanding School Board of the Year for Region 16.

A news release from Region 16, says school boards that are nominated to represent their regions will get the opportunity to be named one of Five Texas Honor Boards, and out of that five, one will be chosen as the States outstanding school board.

Various criteria were considered when selecting the region’s school board of the year, like functioning as a policy-making body, support for educational performance, school transformation and improvement projects, and placement of the welfare of children above personal or political motives.

All of the nominees, including Highland Park ISD, will represent Region 16 at the School Board Convention in December
