Highway 60 Crash Victim Identfied

The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the woman killed in a fatal car crash Monday on East Highway 60, near Highland  Park High School.

DPS troopers say a 1991 Dodge Ram Pickup driven by 22-year-old Cassiopeia Hormond-Wolfe traveling west on Highway 60 smashed into an eastbound Freightliner.

They say the pickup truck traveled off the roadway into and across the center median, entered the eastbound lanes, and struck the semi’s trailer.

Seatbelts were worn by both drivers, but Hormann-Wolfe was thrown from the pickup. Hormann-Wolfe’s seatbelt was damaged during the crash.

The Freightliner driver was treated for minor injuries.

The Amarillo Police Department, Potter County crews, TxDOT, and DPS responded to the crash, which is still under investigation.
