High Plains Food Box Distribution-Hedley
The High Plains Food Bank distributed food boxes to seniors in Hedley as part of the Senior Food Box Program Wednesday.
Recipients of the food boxes got 25 to 30-pound boxes of nutritious groceries at the town’s Senior Citizens Center.
The food bank is also accepting new applications for the senior food program (CSFP) for all sites participating in the program.
Eligibility for the program is based on age and income. Applicants must be at least 60 years old, and their household income is below a monthly limit.
Seniors can apply in person at any scheduled CSFP distribution with identification.
For information on CSFP distribution sites or eligibility, go to the High Plains Food Bank website.
The food box is meant to be used as a supplement for a senior’s food for a month, and not to feed them for an entire month.
