High Plains Food Bank Seeing Food Shortage

With the holidays approaching, Amarillo food banks feeling the effects of supply chain issues.

The High Plains Food Bank says they are being impacted in several different ways.

The impacts range from logistic issues such as, longer wait times or cancelled orders and higher costs.

HPFB Also supplies other food banks like Catholic Charities.

Higher prices for Turkeys doesn’t help either this year because other they give out have to be limited.

The distribution chain is also being affected by the shortage of supply for some of their equipment.

If a truck is in need of repair, The food bank has to wait on a replacement part, and that means there’s one less truck on the road, and that’s less food out of the door.

Catholic Charities are looking for ham and turkey donation.
