High Plains Food Bank 211

The Executive Director of the High Plains Food Bank, Zack Wilson says the Texas Panhandle didn’t experience widespread and prolonged utility outages like other parts of Texas did.

Still, he says many local households were still negatively impacted by the winter storm.

Wilson says the 2-1-1 phone number can help SNAP recipients to recoup benefits to replace food lost because of the storm, but for others struggling to have enough to eat, the network of 194 agency feeding partners gives out emergency food assistance.

They have a social services team to help people and families with the SNAP application process and other quality of life benefits for which they qualify.
