An Amarillo man has plead guilty on Thursday for the murder of his nine month old son.

Logan Gene Hayes was sentenced to spend 50 years in the Texas Department of Corrections.

On November 7th, 2015 Amarillo Emergency services and the Amarillo Police were called to the 2500 block of South West 4th for a baby that was not breathing.

The infant was pronounced dead at the hospital. An autopsy found that the cause of death was asphyxia due to strangulation.

Hayes later confessed to the murder in an interview with police on November 4th, 2018.
