Hall, Others Resign From AEDC Board
With what appears to have been his removal pending on tomorrow’s City Council meeting agenda, Amarillo Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors Chairman Andrew Hall tendered his resignation Monday.
Also resigning were Vice Chair Adrian Meaner, Scott Bentley and Helen Burton.
Hall says the leadership – of the City Council we are assuming – is “eroding the very foundation of public service.” He added “we may never know the opportunities lost” to the actions of the council, but fears “the repercussions could be profound.”
All four seem to place the blame for their resignations at the feet of Amarillo Mayor Cole Stanley and a few city council members.
This appears to be the result of more than one million dollars given by the AEDC to The RANGE in studies and startup costs, the latter referred to as “membership fees.”
