A man with a gunshot wound crashed his vehicle into a home Wednesday evening.
The Amarillo Police Department was called to the scene at 7:00 p.m. and found that a car had crashed into a house near Woodward Street and Bell Street.
Witnesses say the driver veered off an alley behind the house, drove through the backyard fence, and then through a bedroom wall.
The man driving the car had to be extricated from the auto and no one inside the house was hurt.
Police report that the driver had injuries from the wreck and a gunshot wound to the lower body.
He was taken to a hospital and a rescue team also responded to the scene to stabilize the structure of the home.
