Guns In Churches And Hard Liquor Sales On Sunday Possible In Texas

(Austin, TX) — Sunday will never be the same if the Texas legislature passes a couple of proposed bills. Senate Bill 535 would allow Texans to carry guns in churches and other houses of worship. State Senator Donna Campbell says she filed the bill because “there is no such thing as a gun-free zone.” Churches would still be able to prohibit guns on their premises. State Representative Richard Pena Raymond of Laredo filed a bill last week to permit liquor stores in Texas to sell booze on Sundays. Texas is one of eight states that ban Sunday liquor sales.
