Grass Fire West of Shamrock

Officials with the Wheeler County Sherrif’s Office say crews are battling a grass fire west of Shamrock.

The blaze broke out north of I-40 near the intersection of County Road 9 and County Road X in Wheeler County.

Along with the Wheeler County Sheriff’s office, first responders include the Shamrock Fire Department, McLean Fire Department, Samnorwood Fire Department, and Shamrock EMS.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area and no evacuations have been reported as of 12:15 pm.
