God Save the Queen – Elizabeth II Passes at 96

Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Thursday.

She was the head of state for the United Kingdom and 15 commonwealth countries for over 70 years, the longest reign for a British monarch and worldwide.

She was not initially in line for the throne and was put into position for it after Edward VIII’s abdication.

She was heir presumptive until her father King George VI passed in 1952.

Her Majesty became queen at 25 and served her country until her passing at 96.

She was married to Prince Philip and is survived by 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

The throne will be passed to Charles III.
