Girls In Science Has Bugs!   (And Other Creepty Crawlies)

The Girls Who Science program at the Don Harrington Discovery Center is bringing in an amateur entomologist and conservationist for its April program.

An Amarillo woman, Kathleen Guerrero has had a lifelong hobby of collecting insects, arachnids, and myriapods,( MYY-Ree-o- PODS) with over 89 cases of specimens from 48 countries she’s visited and has a 30-year teaching and in volunteer work, educating others about animals and protecting wild species and habitats.

Guerrero has volunteered at the DHDC, Wildcat Bluff Nature Center, Amarillo Botanical Gardens as well as schools and libraries, and other groups wanting to learn from her.

The program is scheduled for April 3rd from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. at the DHDC.
