The mystery of the Garfield phones has been solved. An environmental group in France has solved the three-decade-long mystery of plastic Garfield telephones washing up on northwestern beaches. The group, Air Viltansou, said the orange and black plastic phones have been washing up since the mid-1980s, and they just found a rocky cave where a farmer reported finding a shipping container they believed contained the cartoon phones. Those searching say the shipping case was empty, meaning they won’t be able to stop the phones from washing up on shore. The origins of the shipping container are still being investigated. (UPI)
