Friona will be the first city in the Panhandle to have soft interview rooms for survivors of sexual assault.
The logic behind the “soft Interview rooms’ is to remove the hard “four-cornered”, bare interview rooms, where victims and law enforcement square off facing each other and making the environment more comfortable for the assault trauma victim.
The soft interview rooms will be equipped with comfortable chairs, artwork, and other amenities to make the room feel more comfortable to the victims.
Soft interview rooms are being used across the country, and Friona is finishing the room design and should be up and running soon for the community.
