Spurs Top Nuggets For 2-1 Series Lead

(San Antonio, TX) — Derrick White connected on 15-of-21 shots and scored a career-high 36 points as the Spurs beat the Nuggets 118-108 in Game Three of their first-round playoff series in the Alamo City. DeMar DeRozan contributed 25 points to the win, while LaMarcus Aldridge added 18 points and 11 rebounds. San Antonio now leads the best-of-seven series 2-1. Nikola Jokic paced the Nuggets with 22 points. Malik Beasley had 20 points and nine boards off the Denver bench. The Spurs also host Game Four on Saturday.

Rockets Going On Road

(Salt Lake City, UT) — After crushing the Jazz twice in Houston, the Rockets will go to Utah for the next two games of the opening round playoff series. Game Three is tomorrow night and Game Four will be Monday, both in Salt Lake City. The Rockets won Wednesday 118-98 on their home floor.

Sharks, Blues, Hurricanes Win In Stanley Cup Playoffs

(Undated) — The Sharks, Blues and Hurricanes all won on the ice last night. San Jose beat Vegas 5-2 to stave off elimination, St. Louis won 3-2 at Winnipeg to take a 3-2 series lead and Carolina clipped Washington 2-1 to even that series at two. Tonight, Boston is at home against Toronto tied at two and Colorado skates at Calgary up 3-1 in that series.

Stars Going Back To Nashville For Game Five

(Nashville, TN) — The Stars will meet the Predators in Game Five tomorrow afternoon in Nashville as the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoff series continues. Dallas evened the series at two-each with a 5-1 home victory Wednesday. The Stars led 4-to-nothing after 14 minutes. Game Six will be back in Dallas on Monday.

Rangers Open Series Tonight With Astros

(Arlington, TX) — The Rangers will be gunning for their fifth straight win tonight when they host the Astros in Arlington. Left-hander Drew Smyly will start for the Rangers in the series opener. Justin Verlander will be on the mound for Houston. Verlander struck out a season-high 11 Mariners in his previous start. The Astros had their 10-game winning streak snapped Wednesday in Oakland. Lowry leads at Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) — Shane Lowry has opened with a 6-under 65 to take the lead through one round of the PGA’s RBC Heritage at Hilton Head Island. Trey Mullinax, Daniel Berger, Luke List, Ryan Moore and Ryan Palmer are one shot back. Top-ranked Dustin Johnson rallied with two birdies in his final seven holes for a 68, leaving him three shots back after finishing one stroke behind Masters champion Tiger Woods last week.

NASCAR Takes Week Off Before Talladega

(Undated) — NASCAR is in the midst of a week off, after Saturday’s Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. The series will pick up next week with the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway April 28th. Martin Truex Junior, who picked up the win on Saturday, is sixth in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Standings, 89 points behind leader Kyle Busch.

Elliott Present For Cowboys Off-Season Workouts

(Frisco, TX) — Pro Bowl running back Ezekiel Elliott has been at the Cowboys’ voluntary preseason Phase One conditioning and strength workouts. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said the team would pick up Elliot’s fifth-year option for the 2020 season. Quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver Amari Cooper are eligible for free agency after the 2019 season.

Texas Tech Guard Leaving For NBA

(Lubbock, TX) — Guard Jarrett Culver led Texas Tech to the NCAA championship game and has opted to enter the NBA draft after two seasons with the Red Raiders. He made his announcement at the United Supermarkets Arena. The 6-foot-5 sophomore was named the Big 12 Player of the Year, averaging 18.5 points and 6.4 rebounds. He is projected to be a NBA lottery pick.

FC Dallas Will Face Atlanta Tomorrow

(Atlanta, GA) — FC Dallas will return to the turf tomorrow afternoon, playing in Atlanta United at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Dallas is coming off a 2-1 win over Portland.
