Freda Powell Wants To Continue Positive Momentum In City Growth

Freda Powell represents the entire city on the Amarillo City Council Place 2.

One of the issues she is often asked about is why the push to develop downtown was a major priority.

Powell feels that this path of development has paid off for Amarillo, a once-abandoned downtown now is full of life and activities for all ages and with the Neighborhood Improvement Project, North Heights, The Barrio and San Jacinto will soon see changes as 10.3 million dollars has been allocated for upgrades in these communities.

Powell talks about improving communities throughout the city.

Powell does more than talk the talk, she organized a cleanup day in North Heights so residents along with the Solid Waste Department could take a lead in the beautification of their community.
