Four Professorships Created To Honor Dr. Paul Engler

West Texas A&M University announced four professorships have been created intended to honor the legacy of the late Dr. Paul Engler who passed away May 3 at the age of 94.

WT alumna Dr. Bridget Guerrero has been named the Paul Engler Professor of Agriculture. She joined WT in 2013. 

Dr. Carolyn Bouma has been named the Paul Engler Professor of Microbiology. She has been part of WT since 2005.

Joining WT in 2017, Dr. Dave Howe has been named the Paul Engler Professor of Entrepreneurship. 

Dr. Carl Zhang has been named the Paul Engler Professor of Business Innovation. Zhang joined WT in 2020.

Engler, who revolutionized the cattle feeding industry, agreed in 2017 to provide West Texas A&M with one million dollars a year for at least 80 years to benefit the Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, and the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business.
