Former Panhandle Official Up On Theft Charges

A former city official in Panhandle and Sunray has been found guilty of first-degree Theft by a Public Official. 

 

Rob Roach, the former city manager of Panhandle, before being fired in 2015, after the discovery of accounting irregularities.  From there, he went on to take the City Manager position in Sunray until he resigned in 2018.

 

His time as Sunray City Manager was interrupted by a September 2017 arrest on theft charges from Panhandle.

 

 Roach is expected to serve four days in jail starting on Thursday and will pay more than $100,000 in restitution. He brought a cashier’s check of $50,000 to the proceedings.
