Former Amarillo Teacher Sentenced

The Randal County District Attorney says Geoffrey Nathan Lowry was sentenced to 20 years in jail after being found guilty on the charge of online solicitation of a Minor.

Lowry is a former teacher at the Amarillo School District.

The D.A.’s office says that after a proactive investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Lowry then solicited sex from someone he thought was a 14-year-old minor. Lowry was arrested after that in March of 2020.

A further investigation showed that the man had an improper relationship with a Palo Duro student while he worked at the P.D. in August of 2020

In addition to the 20 year sentence, he’ll also have to pay a 10-thousand-dollar fine
