First Responder Mental Health Training
July 26, 2024 10:46AM CDT
Area first responders will have the opportunity to receive mental health training through a partnership with Amarillo College and Potter County.
Potter County commissioners agreed to use $10,000 of federal stimulus funds for mental health training for first responders in the Panhandle region.
The training will be for all first responders looking for ways to deal with trauma that can come from working on the job.
Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement will be taught by a behavioral scientist who specializes in first responders and public safety.
The first training will be at AC this fall with plans to continue mental health trainings for all first responders.
