Fatal Crash In Gray County

Two people are dead and another two injured after a crash early Monday morning.

The crash took place on Interstate 40 in Gray County two miles west of McLean.

According to authorities a Toyota Camry was traveling west in the east bound lane of I-40 at 1:00 a.m.

A Mercury Mountaineer and truck tractor semi were both going east bound. As the Mercury was passing the semi, the Camry collided head on with the Mercury.

The Mercury was then thrown into the path of the semi causing an additional collision.

There were multiple injuries due to the crash but the driver of the Mercury, Fungisai Banda and Jacob Frogge, who was a passenger in the Camry were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
