Facebook Etiquette – Do You Delete The Dead?

The other day I was looking at the list of my Facebook friends. While going through the hundreds and hundreds of familiar faces, I noticed that there are quite a few people that I could not recall how I knew them. I also noticed that there are several friends that have passed away. I will probably go back over the next week or two and start deleting some people (after I check out their profile) if I don’t immediately recognize them. I try to include as many NewsDay Amarillo listeners on my personal Facebook page as I can. I like to see what you are up to and what you are in to. Please don’t be offended if you get deleted. Just send me another request. Seeing people who have passed away on Facebook is kind of creepy to me. Even seeing my deceased brother on there kind of throws me for a loop. What about recent posts from someone that you know has been dead for several years? That has to be a good friend or family member who is updating their page. STOP IT!  If that is not a friend or family member posting, then there must be Facebook in heaven. That leads me to a question about Facebook etiquette.

Is Ok To Unfriend or Unfollow Someone On Facebook Who Has Passed Away?
