EYE ON WELLNESS – TRAINING PREPARATIONS

With the New Year already here, gym memberships go up and we all have ideas we’re going to stick with them so we can look like Arnold at the end of the year.

Her’s one thing that everyone should take into consideration… take it slow.

What that means is if you plan on running a marathon sometime this year, you don’t have to start out by running 26 point two miles every day, start out by just taking a run around the corner for two or three days and then increase maybe to four or five times. Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day. After you’ve done your four or five times around the block increase the distance incrementally.

Don’t forget you don’t have to do this every day… Maybe two or three times a week. There is such a thing as overtraining and that could lead to fatigue,in other words being counterproductive to your goal..

Let’s not forget to get proper rest… Sleep is your friend and helps your body to recover and allows it to build muscle.
