In this week’s Eye on Wellness, we’re looking at how to give your breakfast meal a boost by maximizing your daily targets of protein, fiber and minerals before you leave the house.

Add white beans to your smoothie. just add a half cup. It’ll make your shake creamier and you won’t even taste them. That will take care of the fiber you need for the day.

Mix shredded carrots into your oatmeal. Get them precut from the grocer. Add pumpkin pie spice, or cinnamon and chopped walnuts or pecans. for a carrot cake-inspired bowl. Voila !!! antioxidants and healthy fats are out of the way.

Finally, top off your cold cereal with chopped nuts or seeds. These toppings are a great source of magnesium, a mineral many of us fall short on. Experiment with chia seeds almonds, pumpkin seeds.and more.
