Evacuations Of Glazier After Fire Called “All Clear”

The Hemphill County Sheriff’s Office says the fire that caused residents to evacuate the town of Glazier is now contained.

A lightning strike started the fire at Urschel Ranch around 12:30 p.m. and heavy winds pushed the fire towards the railroad tracks near Glazier.

A  shift in wind direction helped firefighters get the blaze under control.

At 5 p.m. the fire was contained thanks to multiple Texas fire crews and one department from Shattuck, Oklahoma.

Officials say that 1193 acres were burned.
