EOW Lets Climb The Stairs

People who walk during meetings report feeling five percent more creative and 8 percent more engaged and focused.

Men who climbed 20 to 34 flights of stairs each week experienced 24 percent fewer strokes than those who climbed fewer than ten flights a week; these numbers are backed up by Michael Easter, Men’s Health Magazine contributor and professor of Journalism at UNLV.

It turns out that small choices like whether to take the stairs, where and how to sit, and whether to park in a distant spot and carry your groceries can in fact have a larger impact on health and wellness than our regular workouts, according to research.

Climbing stairs briskly burns 120 calories while dancing burns 106. Walking briskly at 4 miles per hour burns 68 calories while cleaning the house, burns 48. These numbers are for a 180-pound man.
