DPS Troopers Arrest Two For Transporting Cocaine

Two men have been arrested in Carson County, Texas, and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop east of Amarillo.

Miguel Diaz Garcia and Rodman Duran Garcia Louisville, both from Atlanta, Georgia, were taken into custody just after 3:00 p.m. Thursday after troopers discovered nearly 128 pounds of what is believed to be cocaine in the 2021 Honda CRV the two suspects were traveling in. They were pulled over heading east on I-40 near Conway for a traffic violation.

A DPS canine unit was called to the scene and alerted to the car. A trooper discovered a large plastic tote in the backseat that contained multiple plastic-wrapped bundles of cocaine.

The DEA has since taken over the investigation.
