DPS Offices Offering Saturday Appointments Through December 19th

Beginning October 3rd, the Texas Department of Public Safety will be offering Saturday appointments at all state Driver License Offices.

Customers needing to renew or replace their Texas Drivers License or ID cards will still need to set up an appointment between 8am and 5pm.

DPS moved to this new appointment system to provide additional convenience, reducing the time Texans spend waiting in line.

Customers can now book appointments for a specific day and time, up to six months in advance, and show up 30 minutes or less before their scheduled appointment.

Customers can check-in using the kiosk inside the office or from their mobile device.

DPS Officials say nearly 700,000 people statewide had their license or IDs expire while the offices were closed due to the pandemic so they will continue to offer openings on Saturday until through December 19th.
