DPS DL and ID Expiration Waiver To End In April

The Texas Department of Public Safety is reminding the public the waiver on expiration dates for driver licenses and identification cards ends on April 14.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed the waiver in March of 2020 after the closures of DPS offices that applied to Driver Licenses, commercial Driver Licenses, commercial learner permits, ID cards and election identification certificates that expired on or after March 13, 2020.

DPS Officials say you can skip the line by going online to Texas dot Gov or by calling 1-866-357-3639.

You can go in person between 7 am and 7pm Monday thru Thursday and 7am to 5:30pm Friday by appointment.

To schedule an appointment or check availability, visit the online appointment scheduler.

If you are unable to find an appointment at the office of your choice, check back for availability at that office or other locations nearby.
