DOG SAVED BY OIL RIG WORKERS NEARLY 136 MILES FROM SHORE: An exhausted dog was rescued by oil rig workers nearly 136 miles from land. The tan-colored pooch was pulled from the ocean last Friday (April 12th) after he was spotted bobbing between the waves in the Gulf of Thailand. Vitisak Payalaw, who rescued the pup, believes the dog might have fallen off a fishing trawler and named it “Boonrod,” which means “Survivor.” Vitisak says he plans to adopt the now-famous canine once he returns to shore at the end of the month.
