On so many Food Network shows, contestants will be asked to make “the ultimate family dinner”. Every time I hear that I wonder how many of the contestants actually ever have a family dinner. You know, no t.v. or electronics, everyone at the same table….sounds almost prehistoric doesn’t it? Here are some numbers from a recent survey;
Does your family eat dinner together? If so, is there lively conversation at the table? A sad new survey found that only 20% of families sit down for dinner together every night and a third of families sit in silence during dinner time. 30% of respondents admitted they struggled to find things to talk about over dinner and 40% of the parents surveyed said they eat dinner at completely different time from their kids.
44% of the families surveyed said they look at their phones during dinner and 20% said they would rather watch TV during dinner than have a conversation with their family. (SWNS)
Please take our KGNC Instapoll and let us know when you last had a family dinner. And, thank you!
When was the last time you had family dinner together? (kids, conversation, no phones, no t.v.)
