I can vividly remember sitting around a television set with my family in Midland, Texas on July 20, 1969 watching the Moon Landing. We only had three channels, it was the only thing on TV and rightly so. You would be hard to find anything in our lifetimes that would rival the accomplishment of humankind land on the moon’s surface and on top of that it was Americans who did it first. There are people out there that say it never did happen. Several theories have been made that purport it was a propaganda scheme by the government to extol American ingenuity and patriotism. I believe that it happened just like we saw on TV!
I was just wondering on that historical date if a 12-year old boy in Amarillo, Texas named Rick Husband was watching too and got inspired to become an astronaut? What do you think?
