Department of Public Safety Reopening In-Person Services By Appointment Only

The Department of Public Safety will be continuing their reopening process with the expansion of in-person services.

The Drivers License Office will be available by appointment only.

If your Texas ID/DL/CDL/election identification certificate card expired on or after March 13, it still falls under the period covered by the State of Disaster Declaration related to COVID-19 and will remain valid for 60 days after which time DPS issues a public notice.

All licensing offices do have a limited number of same day appointments available and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
