The Cowboys cut veteran defensive tackle Dontari Poe and cornerback Daryl Worley. Poe had only nine tackles in seven starts. The Cowboys signed Poe to a two-year 10.5-million dollar maximum contract with 3.5-million guaranteed. Worley made four starts and had 13 tackles. These moves came a day Dallas dealt Everson Griffen to Detroit.

The Cowboys may have to start rookie Ben DiNucci at quarterback Sunday against the Eagles in Philadelphia. Andy Dalton remains in concussion protocol. The team is planning to bring back quarterback Cooper Rush, who served as Dak Prescott’s backup for three seasons but was released when Dallas signed Dalton. Rush would have to clear NFL COVID-19 rules to enter the team facility and would be unavailable this week. Veteran Garrett Gilbert will serve as the backup this week. The ‘Boys are 2-and-5, but still in contention in the NFC East. Philly leads the division with a 2-4-and-1 record.
