Dallam County Crash Kills Two, One Injured

According to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a rollover accident in Dallam County has left two people dead.

The crash happened around 5:40 Wednesday morning with a 2004 Toyota Sequoia driven by Jose Quinilla of Dalahart was traveling northbound on US 385 when he failed to maintain his lane, veering off the road and into a ditch.

Quinilla overcorrected the steering wheel, causing his vehicle to skid and rollover multiple times.

Two unsecured passengers were ejected from the vehicle. 19-year-old Benjamin Lux and 29-year-old Camaja Ortiz, both from Dalhart, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Quinilla was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

That crash remains under investigation.
