Dalhart Police Officer And Family Hurt In Crash

An early-morning crash involving a Dalhart Police Officer and his family has left them with life-threatening injuries.

Friday morning Officer Alec ”MarJack” Martinez and his family were involved in a wreck on FM 1061 just past the Potter County Line.

Both Martinez and his wife were transported to Northwest Texas Hospital via RICO and Life Star.

Officer Martinez had surgery Friday night to repair a compound break to his right femur. He also has a fractured C6 vertebra that will require further testing. His wife Presley was taken to Lubbock due to an orbital socket fracture and multiple injuries to her face and a break on her right femur as well.

Their daughter Brayleigh suffered a fracture to her right ankle which received a cast and she is with family members.

The Dalhart LEO Wives Auxiliary has set up a GoFundMe to help cover the cost of medical expenses.

An account has also been opened with Dalhart Federal Savings and Loan for those wishing to donate and help this family in need.
