Current Amarillo Mayor Lays Out Re-Election Bid

Amarillo Mayor Ginger Nelson has laid out her plan if she is wins in he re-election bid for a third term as Mayor.

Nelson says her top priority will continue to be Covid, but she is also looking into other area for the city’s improvement that includes high speed internet city wide.

She reasons that high speed internet access will allow people to be hired in Amarillo and be able to contribute to the city’s economy but work where they choose.

Other ideas she wants to work on include Animal Management and Welfare improvements, jobs and economic programs, Neighborhood safety plans, especially looking at at increase in police funding and staffing as well as road and street improvements

The election for Mayor and other city council members takes place on May first.
