Covid-19 Testing Down At The Potter County Jail

The Potter County Jail is making sure they are 1 step ahead of Covid-19.

The jail started testing inmates and employees since the start of the pandemic with 3 inmates testing positive. 

More testing took place the week of May 27th.

On June 3rd, test results showed that out of 518 tested, 1 employee turned up positive with no sign of symptoms.

104 did refuse to get tested but Sheriff Brian Thomas said “We are not to concerned with that since they are all in the same cell and not being transferred around especially with our results.”

The jail has 3 cells available to put all new  in the isolate them for 14 days.

Sheriff Thomas says they will continue to test new inmates as they come in if they wish to be tested.
