Council Woman Elaine Hays Announces Run For Re-Election

Council Woman Elaine Hays announced Friday morning that she will be seeking reelection to her place 1 seat of the Amarillo City Council.

Hays has said that fiscal responsibility, economic development, and public safety have continued to be at the forefront of her pledge to improve the quality of life for the residents of Amarillo.

“We have made great strides over the past two years, and it’s crucial to finish what we have started,” said Hays. “Listening to and working with citizens to move Amarillo forward was my pledge when I took office in 2017, and I would be honored to have the opportunity to continue to serve.”

Hays is also one of the visionaries behind the Buy the Way, Keep it Local campaign which works with local businesses, the Chamber of Commerce and City Leaders to help bring Sales Tax to the city.

Elaine Hays has been a resident of Amarillo since 1985 and earned her Master of Science in Finance and Economics from West Texas A&M, BBA in Marketing from Texas Christian University and completed her designation as a Certified Financial Planner from the College for Financial Planning.
