Coffee Memorial Blood Center “Caden’s Story”

Officials at Coffee Memorial Blood Center on Monday shared the story about how the gift of life helped save one of their own.

Joy Ferguson knows first hand about how blood donations saved her son’s life.

While riding his dirt bike, Caden was stuck by a vehicle causing the ribs on his right side to be shattered, both lungs collapsed, both shoulder blades and his collarbone were broken, and he had two leg fractures.

A total of 40 units of blood was used during his recovery process that is still ongoing.

Suzanne Talley with the Center says blood donors are at an all time high now more than ever.

You can schedule an appointment to donate by going to the gift of life dot org or by calling 358-4563.
