Cockfighting Ring Busted By The The Potter County Sheriff’s Office

The Potter County Sheriff’s Office has made arrests regarding a cockfighting ring on Friday.

Deputies had been notified of two men arguing at a property in the Byrd addition today. They were also notified that roosters were fighting at this location.

Forty-three-year-old Ivan Guadalupe Herrera-Lopez was arrested on the scene and transported to the Potter County Detention Center.

Narcotics were also found at the residence and. 41-year-old Juana Sanchez Gonzalez was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

One hundred and 60 fighting roosters were also found at the location, all of which were turned over to the Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

Law enforcement officials notified ICE, since many of the people were found to be in the U.S. illegally. They were put under arrest.  The investigation is ongoing.
